ABOUT ME
Originally from the island of Guam, I moved to Chicago in 1991 to pursue my career in Education. I graduated from the University of Illinois– Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Governor State University with a Masters in Educational Administration. I then graduated with a Doctoral Degree in Educational Administration from Loyola University Chicago in May 2019. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher. I am proud to have been selected to participate in a national fellowship with The Cahn Fellows Program for Distinguished Principals, hosted by Columbia University's Teachers College and The Fund Chicago for the 2019-20 school year. This 2022-23 school year, The Cahn Fellows Program selected me for the UCAL Berkeley Institute for Executive Leadership Coaching. I am now a CP3 Certified Executive Coach through UCAL Berkeley Institute for Executive Leadership Coaching in partnership with the Cahn Fellows Program for Distinguished Principals and the UC Berkeley Executive Education, where I will also be working with principals in the Cahn program as well as early career principals. I am honored and excited!
I am happily married to Ronan for twenty years. We have two beautiful daughters, Sophia who is in her second in college and Emma who is in the 11th grade. My family is the love of my life! I would not be here today without them.
On my spare time, I love to spend time with my family and friends. We enjoy making meals and laughing as we reminisce past times. I also love to run by the lake as it brings me comfort and joy to be living in such a beautiful city and appreciate what I have.
MY MISSION
I am a highly skilled and talented educational leader with 28 years of experience in the Chicago Public Schools. I firmly believe that all students can succeed with the collaboration and support of their parents, community, teachers, and administration. My mission is to advocate for all students so that they have access to high quality instruction and are empowered to lead successful lives. I hope to instill my leadership values unto others so that they can be inspired to do the same.
