Welcome! My name is Michael Gallagher and I have been teaching at CWLA for 4 ½ years as the Bilingual Coordinator and Spanish Bilingual teacher. This has given me the chance to get to know students in every grade level and I’ve loved it! This year, I will be meeting the newest and youngest students at the school as I transition to Kindergarten!  I’m in my 19^th year as a bilingual teacher at CPS, but this will be my first year as a kindergarten homeroom teacher. I’m super excited about getting started and watching the little ones grow.

I’m originally from a big family in Columbus, Ohio and I moved to Chicago to attend Columbia College Chicago a very long time ago. I LoVe to travel, play tennis and I’m a practicing artist who shows around the Chicago area and over the summer of 2022 I even participated in an artist residency in Mexico City! I also love learning new things and sharing what I’ve learned with others, which is my favorite part of teaching.
